Nevada County Adult Education Code of Conduct
Any behavior which interferes with the teaching, learning, or administrative process will not be tolerated. Students must abide by all program policies, rules, expectations and regulations including any health and safety protocols. 
Students are expected to:
  • Preregister for all classes at
  • Sign In and out of classrooms 
  • Participate actively in the learning process as expected by their instructors
  • If your class has a scheduled start time please report on time 
  • If you must leave class please do so in a quiet and courteous manner
  •  Demonstrate respect towards others at all times
  •  Refrain from condemning, criticizing or complaining about others
  • Abide by all computer usage rules without exception
Unacceptable Conduct on School Property:
  •  Physical, verbal abuse or threatening anyone.
  • Smoking/Vaping and/or use of any tobacco products is strictly prohibited.
  • Use, distribution or possession of alcoholic beverages, drugs or controlled substances.
  • Disorderly conduct which inhibits or interferes with the educational process.
  •  Irresponsible behavior including vandalism or gambling.
  •  Possession of any weapon.
  • Behavior choices which cause any disruption of the teaching, learning and/or administrative process. For example: being excessively loud in the classroom, arguing or being defiant or disrespectful to the teacher, staff or students, or interrupting the teacher while he or she is with another student.
  • Sexual harassment
Students Dress/Grooming Standards:
Clothing worn on campus must reflect good taste and a sense of modesty to enhance an atmosphere conducive to learning. 
  • Clothing and/or jewelry with anti-ethnic, sexist, or hate/violence (satanic) or neo-Nazi designs or slogans or full-dress military fatigues are not allowed. 
  • Printing or pictures depicting drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, or which display profane statements are not acceptable. 
  • To prevent distraction, modesty shall prevail in student dress. At no time shall a student’s private body parts or underclothing be exposed or seen.
  • Shoes must be worn on the school grounds at all times.
  • Any apparel, jewelry, accessories, notebook, or manner of grooming which, by virtue of its
    color, arrangement, trademark, or other attribute, denotes membership in gangs, or which advocates drug use, violence, or disruptive behavior are not allowed.
Remaining on campus after classes are dismissed is not allowed unless it is part of a planned activity by the teacher. Students must be in class during class meeting times.
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to meet any expectations described and/or outlined will be interpreted as a desire on the student's part not to participate in the NJUHSD Adult Education Program. Students will be asked to leave campus until able to comply.  Principal may suspend, or expel the student from the program.
